Narcotics Arrest

01/02/2022

On January 2nd, Deputy Gary Farmer seized drugs, handgun, drug paraphernalia and cash during the course of an investigation that began near Dawson on W Hwy 31 with an observed traffic violation. The suspect vehicle was observed speeding 100 mph in 70 mph zone which later turned into a vehicle pursuit. The early morning pursuit ended with the suspect vehicle having a one car motor vehicle accident in Retreat near Corsicana.

A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle in which a handgun, marijuana, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, a vacuum sealer and $1,000 cash was located.
The driver was placed into custody for evading arrest/detention with motor vehicle, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana over 5LBS under 50LBS and unlawful carry of weapon.

This case remains under investigation and additional charges could be filed. Deputy Farmer was assisted in this investigation by Sgt. Thurston and Cpl. Porter.

I want to commend these officers on another good job as they remain dedicated to protecting the citizens of Navarro County.
