Navarro County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Friday morning who was driving a stolen car and carrying drugs.

According to a press release by Sheriff Elmer Tanner, a NCSO narcotics unit observed the vehicle traveling on Highway 287 and ran its registration.

Dispatch told deputies the vehicle was reported stolen out of Corsicana.

NCSO patrol assisted in initiating a stop on the stolen vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and deputies pursued the suspect.

The pursuit traveled in the residential area of E 16th and continued to S. Fourth St. The suspect continued north and wrecked in the area of S. Fourth and E 10th.

Suspect then ran and deputies caught him and took him into custody in 800 block of E 9th.

Suspect was found to be in possession of cocaine after taken into custody. More narcotic evidence was located inside the stolen vehicle as well.

The suspect will be charged with Evading Arrest with Vehicle and the Corsicana Police Department will be obtaining an arrest warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
