Our inmate trustee program is valuable to the operations at the NCSO in several ways. The inmates who meet the qualifications and criteria are offered the opportunity to work in exchange for time credit.
This is just another example of how we also try to teach inmates a trade that can be applied and utilized once they are released back into society.
This inmate is seen driving a tractor and shredding pasture at our county farm. He could easily apply for and be offered a... ranching job or tractor operator position, as a result of the experience he has received while incarcerated.
We also share an example of our inmates learning about ranching. They are shown just after doctoring a baby calf with pneumonia while giving it electrolytes for rehydration.
