While vacationing out-of-state recently, homeowners near Leroy had to cut their trip short after learning their home was burglarized.

The homeowners provided McLennan County Sheriff's Office investigators with an itemized list of what was missing.

According to MCSO officials, deputies used the list, which included about 20 firearms, to track down the stolen goods...and the people who took them.

On Tuesday, three deputies recovered eight of the stolen firearms at a pawn shop in Corsicana, leading them to a home on HWY 22.

With the help of the Navarro County Sheriff's Office, the McLennan County deputies executed a 'no-knock' search warrant and found more stolen property, including tools, and drugs inside the residence.

Three people inside were arrested.

James Benninfgield, 38, was booked on two outstanding warrants out of Hill County for theft and for bail jumping and failure to appear.

He remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of bonds totaling $5,000.

Kandace Benningfield, 36, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

She remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Trent Freeman, 36, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He also had an outstanding warrant out of Tarrant County for failure to pay child support.

He remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of bonds totaling $26,500.

McLennan County Sheriff's officials said burglary charges were forthcoming, and additional charges and arrests were on the way.
