Welfare concern results in narcotics arrest

On Wednesday, June 14th at approximately 08:28 pm, Corporal Palos and Deputy Minze were dispatched to the Valero gas station at 10414 S Hwy 287 in reference to a welfare concern. Deputies arrived and made contact with the sole occupant of the vehicle who had reportedly been in the parking lot for roughly four hours. Upon contact Deputies detected an odor of Marihuana emitting from the vehicle.
While conducting a pat down of the occupant for officer safety, a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and an unused syringe was located on his person. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, Deputies located:
9 grams of Methamphetamine
1.6 grams of Oxycodone
13.9 grams of Marihuana
During the contact Deputies also located and seized approximately $14,095 of US currency. An asset forfeiture case will be filed against the US currency.
The suspect was charged with:
Possession of Marihuana under 2oz, Manufacture / delivery of controlled substance penalty group 1>=1G<4G, Manufacture /delivery controlled substance penalty group 1>=4G<200G
