NCSO deploys SWAT team and crisis negotiators to assist Limestone County S.O.

The Navarro County Sheriffs Office has deployed a SWAT team and crisis negotiators to the scene at the request of Limestone County S.O.
This continues to be an active scene.
Groesbeck Police Department
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Groesbeck Police Chief Chris Henson and Limestone County Sheriff Murray Agnew were informed of a defendant who failed to return to trial proceedings at the Limestone County Courthouse. Chief Henson and Sheriff Agnew were informed the defendant was possibly at Limestone Medical Center. Chief Henson and Sheriff Agnew arrived on scene and located the defendant in the parking lot. The defendant was found to be distraught and in possession of a firearm. Chief Henson then placed Limestone Medical Center on lockdown while Sheriff Agnew initiated communications with the defendant. Chief Henson then assisted Sheriff Agnew with negotiations until approximately 8:50 p.m. at which time negotiations were transferred to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Those efforts are still underway and the area remains closed to non-law enforcement personnel.
