NCSO mourns death of retired Deputy Kris Matthews

With more times than I care to count during my almost 10 years as Sheriff, it is with a heavy heart we must once again say goodbye to one of our NCSO family members and good friends. We are extremely saddened today by the loss of retired Deputy and current Navarro College Police officer, Kris Matthews.
Kris served over 23 years at the NCSO and retired in January at the rank of Sergeant in our patrol division.
Our many heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to his wife, children and his family along with many friends as they deal with this tragic loss in the many difficult days, weeks and months ahead.
