UPDATE

I just came from the hospital checking on Deputy Richards. He is in good spirits and thanks everyone for their prayers and support. Although he is still being medically evaluated he is looking forward to full and speedy recovery.

Today our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Shane Richards as he was on duty this afternoon in his marked departmental Tahoe when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. Deputy Richards was stationary at the traffic light at the intersection of West 2nd and 37th in Corsicana when the accident occurred. Deputy Richards is being medically evaluated at a local hospital at this time.
