Search Warrant Leads to a Cache of Weapons

Yesterday Deputies of the NCSO went to a residence in the 8800 block of West HWY 31 Corsicana to execute a search warrant as well as to serve an arrest warrant for possession of child pornography on Harvey Alec Strain, 79 of Corsicana.

Mr. Strain was arrested by NCSO detectives as he was pulling up to the locked gate in front of his residence. Mr. Strain was found to be in possession of a loaded pistol at the time of arrest. As detectives began to search the home, they found a cache of weapons and ammunition.

Due to the large number of firearms observed in plain view and the number of possible automatic weapons present, a call was placed to to the Dallas Field Division of the ATF for assistance. At this time, deputies working along with ATF agents, have located approximately 45 firearms with a number of the automatic firearms being illegal for Mr. Strain to possess.

The officers have also located approximately 100,000 rounds of various types of ammunition, and numerous firearm components were also discovered throughout the home as well as hidden within the walls of the residence. Deputies and ATF agents are continuing to search the location and process evidence today.

The suspect remains in custody at the Navarro County Justice Center.
